From the Head of the SchoolIf one were to describe a school that could provide an excellent well-rounded education, it would certainly begin with a rock-solid foundation in reading, writing and arithmetic, a strong music and arts program, and an abundance of projects, field trips and outdoor activity. It would also include a personalized approach to students and a low student-teacher ratio. The faculty would be caring, competent, dedicated individuals who approached their work with enthusiasm. There would be a sense of values and a known standard that all students could strive toward. There would be a curriculum that was effective in attaining those standards and a method of learning that allowed children to comprehend what was studied. Students would increasingly develop the confidence to tackle anything they desired to know. And their efforts would lead to competencies that made them proud. I believe this is what a parent seeks from an investment in their child’s education, and it's what should be expected from a school. I started my career with Delphi as a 2nd grade teacher, and after 23 years in education, my joy of learning and working with children has never wavered. What could possibly be more rewarding than helping a child learn to read for the first time; or helping students discover new subjects; or helping a student master a new ability? It is looking through the eyes of children and seeing the wonder and beauty of their world that makes everything we do at Delphi so worthwhile. Please enjoy our new website! It is designed to introduce you to Delphi, but also keep in mind the value of a first-hand experience. I invite you to see for yourself the sense of the energy and vitality here and I encourage you to schedule a visit. That's when you will fully appreciate the uniqueness of the Delphi Program. I look forward to meeting you, soon. Leslie Toth |
